to be like Khlebnikov with piles to bear and axes to let pass through the heart
Hello! My eye is glad to see you - those who have found my web page! :)
My name is Alexander Zorin, I study Tibetan literature, mostly poetry, and am curator of the Tibetan collection kept at the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, RAS. Moreover, I translate poetry and sometimes write my own lines, I travel (with my wife or alone) and have a blog. You will find all these things here, on my page. I will be happy if you find them at least a little bit interesting.
The navigation is rather easy. Above there are a few icons that mark the major sections of my page:
- Tibetan Studies. Here you will find the info about my academic publications, useful Tibetological links, etc.
- Verses & Translations. My English translations of poetry by Velimir Khlebnikov are the main part of the section. My own humble lines translated into English are also offered to your kind attention.
- Pictures. You will see the photos taken by my wife and me during our journeys, starting from Norway 2000. The major part of the pics are property of (c) Maria Zorina. Separate subsections are reserved for the best people and animals.
- Blog. I have run the Russian blog at the livejournal.com since October 2007. Specially for this page I decided to start a new English blog on various Tibetan issues.
After you choose the section you are interested in, please, click it and get there, note that the relevant icon will have a red frame. To the left you will find links to the pages inside the section, to the right a short introduction and the last update.
If you are interested in the Russian version of the web page that is more extensive than the English one, just click the old Russian map. Please, note that although the map is that of the Russian Empire I am not a Russian imperialist. I just like old maps and, in addition to it, I guess the majority of those living now in the territory of the former Russian Empire, would rather address to me in Russian than in English. :) Basically, I like independent people so I do not see anything bad in anybody’s sovereignty.
Finally, if you want to reread this text press my eye again, desirably in a tender way. :) If you have something to say to me, please, use my e-mail address indicated below.
Sarva mangalam!
